Outcomes

Outcomes is a site that seeks to make post-operative outcomes easier to track for physicians after major surgery, and with the aid of data visualization makes patient progress clear and comprehensible at a glance.

I worked with a team to redesign and streamline customer experience on the site and offer improved design solutions for main customer page, patient profiles, and overall visual design to improve usability and readability.

We conducted research and interviews on users, from nurses to medical students and surgeons, tested and gathered feedback on the UI, and consulted doctors on common medical practices.

I aided the team in design sprints and made design recommendations for UI based on existing common design paradigms and usability.

UX Research and Testing

We interviewed medical professionals from nurses to doctors to get an idea of best medical practices as well as prioritize the most significant data points for analysis. In using the app patients were to be sent a survey on pain, mobility and other indices on a point based system, creating graphs to support trend analysis and clinical insights.

We then created a patient tile system to view the patients that had the most reported change (a patient hot list).

Improving Usability and Features

We sought to enhance the site's customer experience by optimizing the main customer page, refining patient profiles, and improving the overall visual design for user comprehension. We also added features to the patient tiles such as notes, after user research indicated they were needed.

Visual Design

We then refined the design language for the main dashboard and made improvements to align with known design paradigms.
